We’re calling it the Insight Goat to Your Happy Place, and we’re working hard to make sure it is far and away the best goat event you’ve ever attended. One might call it the G.O.A.T.

Bring your friends, bring your family, and lets all pet and hang out with goats, beer in hand of course, in the name of fun. For this very special Goat Event, we’ll be tapping four exclusive goat casks.

- Blackberry Saison (7.8%)
- Double Orange Honey Wheat (5.7%)
- Elderflower Lager (4.7%)
- Triple Ginger Rowdy Uncle (6.0%)

Goats aren’t the only ones who like to eat everything, so we’ll have lots of food on hand for you humans too. Such as:
- DelSur Empanadas will be serving up made-from-scratch, individually handcrafted, fresh-baked empanadas.
- Foxy Falafel will have their delicious NYC-style crispy falafels on offer.
- Go Bananas will be covering the desert, with delicious chocolate-dipped treats.

Time: 12:00 PM  4:00 PM

Location: North Mississippi Regional Park, 5116 N Mississippi Dr

Canoe RAVE at North Mississippi Regional Park

River Action Volunteer Events (RAVEs) are a fun way to explore the river in a way few others do.  All trips couple a restoration service project in a hard to reach area of the river with an adventure tour by National Park Service rangers.  Explore the river, learn about significant wildlife and cultural features, and do some good!

For this RAVE, we will explore the northern end of our park aboard our awesome partner Wilderness Inquiry’s 24-foot voyageur canoes, and along the way hear river stories from national park rangers. We’ll meet near picnic shelter C at North Mississippi Regional Park, and board a bus for River Park where we will hop in canoes to access an island service project. Then we will continue our paddle back down to North Miss where we started.

This fun recreation and volunteer restoration project is great for adults and kids over 12 years old. No canoeing experience needed. Groups of 9 or less are welcome to register. RAVEs are free events for volunteers – your only ticket is your service to the river!

Please contact the Mississippi River Visitor Center with any questions or concerns on the day of the event: 651-293-0200

June 7, 2019, Friday - Field Trip! Dinkytown: Forever Young Walking Tour

Time: 4p - 6p

Location: We will meet at the NE corner of University Ave and 14th Ave SE, on the corner of the bridge.

Field Trip! Dinkytown: Forever Young Walking Tour

John Pillsbury’s decision to locate the University of Minnesota on the eastern bank of the Mississippi River set the stage for Dinkytown’s destiny as a dynamic commercial district that has inspired generations of people to explore new ideas and try out different personas. This tour explores Dinkytown’s early commercial years, signature buildings, legacy businesses, and its role in the student protests of the 1960s. Because of its proximity to the U of M, Dinkytown has always been subject to the winds of change and cycles of urban growth and decline, accompanied by fears that it will be irreparably changed. Yet, with each new generation, it revives itself like the seasons, as each fall new students, faculty, and staff pass through on their way to the University, all simultaneously leaving their mark on Dinkytown as well as being marked by it. Bonus site includes Hubert Humphrey's first residence in Minneapolis.

Hennepin History Museum's Interim Director, Cara Letofsky, will be your guide on this half-mile walk.
