Nerd Nite Twin Cities is a night of geeky presentations, games, hilarity, and booze. Three nerds from around the Twin Cities will spend 15 minutes telling us about what they’re nerdy about, and then they’ll take questions from the audience. We’ll also have games, which means we’ll also have prizes.

This is the final winter that the upper and lower concourses of the Metrodome become the Rollerblade® Rollerdome, which has annually hosted thousands of inline skaters who come to relax, exercise, train, socialize, or just watch others turn endless effortless laps on the roughly half-mile smooth concrete loop. Park your car in the free lot adjacent to Gate D (on the SE side) and enter the revolving doors.

White vs. Whole Wheat: A Tale of Two Flours at Mill City Museum
See how history is revealed in food through a baking demonstration focusing on the story behind white and whole wheat flour. Discover how Minneapolis millers perfected a way to make white flour on an industrial scale, hear about the popularity of white flour in the 19th century, what effects this had on nutrition, and why flour today is frequently enriched. Visitors will also learn why Sylvester Graham developed a whole wheat cracker "to improve health and morality," hear the pros and cons of each type of flour, sample baked goods made from each, and take home a copy of the recipes.
Fee: Programs included with museum admission of $11 adults, $9 seniors and college students, $6 children ages 6-17; free for MHS members.

Tonight: Sudden Lovelys
The Sudden Lovelys describe their unique and earnest sound as Aggressive Folk. Daniel writes, plays guitar, ferociously sings, and kicks a vintage red suitcase. Paige also sings, slaps a cymbal with a tambourine, and plays a slew of funky hand percussion. While performing, their biggest joy is the connection shared with a responsive audience. There is a humble passion and honesty in their live show that can not be denied.

Hungry for an off-the-beaten path Minneapolis food experience? Join us as we explore one of the city's trendy and historical neighborhoods, Mill District and St. Anthony on Main in Northeast Minneapolis. You'll enjoy the afternoon sampling food at the first Thai restaurant in Minnesota, drinking local Minnesota brewed beer at the oldest restaurant in Minneapolis, and enjoy a local favorite - the cheese curds. You'll also enjoy mouth-watering pasta located in the historical Chase building, fresh baked European style bread at a local Farmers Market, home-made gelato, and lip smacking BBQ sliders from a historical restaurant that once operated as a mattress company.
Along with sampling food we will also visit the Mill City Museum, stroll by the Guthrie, and enjoy gorgeous views of St. Anthony Falls as we walk along the Stone Arch Bridge into historical St. Anthony on Main. You'll learn about the history of both these neighborhoods including a stroll along the oldest street in Minneapolis. You'll taste and chat with other food-loving guests, and leave the tour with an appreciation for these distinct neighborhoods that most tourist never see!

Breakfast with a Preservationist - Landscape Architect Jean Garbarini
Landscape architect Jean Garbarini, ASLA, PLA, will discuss the role of landscape architects in historic preservation, while tracing her own journey as a practitioner. Her work has included consulting on a National Historic Landmark and Minnesota icons such as Glensheen, Union Depot, the Cathedral of Saint Paul, and the Minneapolis Grand Rounds. Looking through the lens of project examples, the presentation will explore the subjective world of preservation in both planning, design and construction.
