Minority Memoir Writing Group Monthly Meetup
It’s about that time again - time to write, share and reflect! Bring your coffee mug and some personal writing and be prepared to share with the group.
We’re going to listen to each other read and look for positive + constructive feedback to give in return. The goal is twofold: to make our work stronger and to help understand our stories in a different light.
Come on up to the Book Club Room inside the Loft Literary Center (3rd floor, first room on your left when you get off the elevator). We meet at 11AM, but there’s a coffee shop and a bookstore on the first floor if you show up early!
Time: 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Location: Northrop Plaza, Minneapolis
We will be teaching anyone and everyone who wants to learn how to swing dance on Northrop Plaza Sunday, September 1st from 11:30am-2:30pm! This is a dance that originated in Harlem, New York during the Harlem Renaissance and is danced to Jazz. We believe anyone can dance. We like to say if you can walk, you can dance! So bring the snap in your fingers and the rhythm in your walk, and we will teach you how to live in a great big way! If you didn't catch on that the last sentence was a reference to a song, feel free to look up the King of Swing, Louis Prima, before our event! So come hang out in the sun with us, socialize, listen to jazz, and learn to dance!
Time: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Location: Westminster Presbyterian, 1200 Marquette Ave
Westminster Sunday Farmers Market
Join us in this first season of the Westminster Sunday Farmers Market. The market runs from 9 am to 1 pm and is located on Westminster Plaza on Nicollet Mall.
The market supports local producers and makers. Our priority is to connect our community to locally grown and produced agricultural products from vendors who cultivate and raise their own products, as well as local specialty food creators and Fair Trade and locally made craft vendors.
Please contact Lacey Jung to learn more about supporting the market.
