Keep it simple. Keep it MiNi. That's our philosophy for the inaugural You Are Here MiNi Yogafest. Come join local yoga teachers Ted Roseen, Jan Johnson, Jessica F. Rosenberg, Koreen Valdovinos, Tim Rehborg, Dani Coffield, Danielle Jokinen, Thomasina and Bob Fisk, and more, for 1 day of yoga, meditation, and relaxation. Come experience a wide variety of yoga styles from Laughing Yoga to Sound Meditation to a good old-fashioned Vinyasa flow. The 1-hour classes will be going on all day.

Take them all, take one, or pop in and out throughout the day. There will even be a kids yoga class that will happen at the same time as an adult yoga class, so bring the kids. Kids are free with purchase of an adult ticket. There will also be a few hand-selected local vendors, and the option of a MiNi massage, and a MiNi photo shoot. BUT, we are also keeping the attendance MiNi, only 60 tickets will be sold, so don't miss your chance.

Railroad History Walking Tours

Beginning with the arrival of Minnesota's first rail line in 1862, Minneapolis boomed in population, flour milling, lumber production, and warehousing as a rail network extended throughout the Upper Midwest.

Take a guided tour of railroad landmarks, including the Stone Arch Bridge, Milwaukee Road Depot, and the Minneapolis Eastern Railway engine house and trestle. Along the way, find clues to the vanishing railroad landscape and learn about the future of Twin Cities rail.

The tour includes about 1.5 miles of moderately paced walking on uneven surfaces. Please call ahead to make arrangements for guests with limited mobility.

MARKET YOGA
The Mill City Farmers Market hosts free 60-minute yoga classes every Saturday June through September. On July 6th, the instructor from YogaFit Studios will be tailoring some extra special poses for cyclists at the 9 a.m. all-level flow class located in the lawn across West River Parkway from the Market.

COOKING DEMO
Lachelle Cunningham of Chell's Kitchen joins us at a guest chef for a 10:30 cooking demo using seasonal ingredients from our farmers and other food vendors in the train shed cafe area. Samples and recipe cards are available!

Women’s Work Walkring Tour

Join a walking tour led by a costumed interpreter portraying labor writer Eva Valesh, who exposed poor working conditions along the Minneapolis riverfront in a series of articles in 1888 and 1889.

Learn about jobs that were available to women in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, key events in Minneapolis women's labor history, and the factories that Valesh exposed, including the North Star Woolen Mill, which still stands two blocks from Mill City Museum.

Valesh was a labor writer and orator also known by her pen name Eva Gay. Valesh served as labor editor for the Saint Paul Globe and Minneapolis Tribune as well as an orator for the National Farmers' Alliance. She went on to national acclaim, working as assistant editor of the American Federationist.

This tour includes about 1.5 miles of moderately paced walking on uneven surfaces. Please call ahead to make arrangements for guests with limited mobility.

Get ready Minneapolis, because we’re bringing Strider Cup Racing to the Twin Cities. These tiny riders will be racing their hearts out next to the massive US Bank Stadium. We’ll be spending a day of fun and racing at The Commons, 425 Portland Ave S, on July 6th, 2019. Strider Cup Races give kiddos a chance to put their Strider skills to the test at several stops across the United States and the world. This unique race series caters directly to children 2-6 years old who want to experience the thrill of racing. Children of all sizes and skill levels are welcome to participate.

Strider Cup Races are family-friendly race and play experiences designed to let little ones ages 2-6 years old explore the world on two wheels. The races offer the structure of an organized and competitive race in a fun and inviting atmosphere where family and friends are supportive of all riders.

In 2019, we have the Strider 12 race classes and the Strider 14x Sport race class.

The Strider 12 race classes will be open to children 2-4 years old. The Strider 14x Sport race class will be open to children ages 3-6 years old. If your little tater tot is 3 or 4 years old, they’re more than welcome to race on their Strider 12 Bike, and then race again in the 14-inch class on their Strider 14x bike. A second registration & fee would be required.

Online Registration is now open. $32 registration (includes service fee) also gets your child a Strider Jersey, Number Plate, and other goodies at Packet Pick-Up!

Online registration for both the Strider 12 Races (age classes 2, 3, and 4 year olds) and the 14x Class (age classes 3, 4, 5, and 6 year olds) race closes on July 4th, at 8:00 pm Mountain Standard Time

On-site registration is only available to the 14x Open Class racers at both Friday’s packet pickup and race day.

Only Strider brand balance bikes are permitted to race. Please read the full Strider 12 Race Rules. If you plan on participating in a 14x race, please read the full Strider 14x Race Rules.

    The Minnesota Twins and Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine have teamed up to promote health and wellness during the Twins 2019 regular season. The Mayo Clinic Monday Miles walking program provides the opportunity for downtown working professionals to take advantage of the lunchtime sunshine and walk the warning track at Target Field. Mayo Clinic Monday Miles will take place ten times throughout the summer. Participants should enter through Gate 29 to check in and begin their walk. Following each event, participants are encouraged to walk to Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine (skyway level of Mayo Clinic Square) for some ‘enter to win’ opportunities and to hear more about the services offered at that location.

    In the event of inclement weather, participants will be notified of cancellation via email at least 2 hours prior to walk start time.
