The Spirit of Minnesota Tribute Bell | Dedication Ceremony

The Minneapolis Downtown CouncilWells Fargo and the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans invite you to The Spirit of Minnesota Tribute Bell unveiling and dedication ceremony in Loring Park. The celebration will honor past and present military members and inspire future veterans of Minnesota.

Stop by on Wednesday, December 19 from 6-8 pm, enjoy FREE skating and complimentary skates on site, and ring The Spirit of Minnesota Tribute Bell in honor of past, present and future members of our Armed Forces.

About The Spirit of Minnesota Tribute Bell:

The 255 lb. bronze bell was cast by The Verdin Company with dog tags, medals and other military memorabilia collected from Minnesota veterans. After the unveiling ceremony, the Spirit of Minnesota Tribute Bell will be mounted on a small trailer so it can travel across the state for years to come, creating outreach and awareness opportunities for veterans, active service members and military families.

As Minnesota’s third largest private employer and a Minnesota Yellow Ribbon Company, Wells Fargo sponsored the casting of The Spirit of Minnesota Tribute Bell to honor Minnesota veterans. This sustainable mobile platform allows Minnesotans a distinctive way to recognize veterans, active service members and military families for years to come.

December 18, 2018, Tuesday - Best Christmas Ever Charity Wrapping Party! at Modist Brewing

Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Location: Modist Brewing Company, 505 N 3rd Street

Best Christmas Ever Charity Wrapping Party!

We have worked hard for 4 weeks collecting money and gifts for our family, come celebrate them and all of your hard work while wrapping these gifts with us! If you haven't been able to contribute yet, bring a cash donation or unwrapped gift and Dr. Andy will buy you your first beer.

The family we are helping is a Twin Cities family of 4. The youngest daughter, 4 years old, has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Cancer. She is a spunky, sweet, fun young girl who loves zebras and the color pink. She had been struggling with a sinus infection earlier this fall. Upon going to the doctor, she was immediately transported to Pediatric ICU, at which point the tumor was discovered. She started chemo almost immediately. This clearly has taken a huge toll on this young family. Older sister who is just in elementary school spends far less time with Mom and Dad as they realize the struggle of trying to care for both kids at once, in different cities. We have the opportunity to help them.

SOME THINGS TO KNOW
- 100% of all donations go to this family
- Every donation is tax deductible
- This IS A SURPRISE to the family. The family has no clue that this is happening for them, and they are in no way involved. All gifts, and donations, will be collected and dropped off to family a few days before Christmas as a surprise.

Outside of donations on this website, there is a gift tree at Well Adjusted Minneapolis, 401 N 3rd Street Suite 220. This gift tree will be up until Tuesday December 18th, at which point we will be having a gift wrapping party to wrap all of our gifts before we drop them off at our family's home. If you want to buy a specific gift for the family, please email DrAndy@welladjustedmn.com the gift you have chosen (to avoid duplicates), and have it shipped and/or delivered by December 18th. As gifts come in, the list below will be updated.

GIFT LIST

- Clothes, Girl, Size 7/8
- American Girl Doll (2)

December 17, 2018, Monday - MBP Run Club at Minneapolis Bouldering Project

Time: 5:45p - 8p

Location: Minneapolis Bouldering Project, 1433 W River Road N

MBP Run Club

What is the MBP Run Club?

The goal of the MBP Run Club is to connect runners, non-runners, and climbers alike to build a supportive and inclusive community that meets every Monday, all year, to run, climb, and meet awesome humans.

When do we meet?
Every Monday!
-5:45pm: Meet in the Fitness Area to stretch and chat, and choose your route.
Clayton will have several different routes available to choose from, based on the pace you'd like to run at. The goal is to have everyone find a sub-group to run in that ends with all of us arriving back at MBP around the same time.
-6:00pm - 6:30pm: Run
-6:45pm - 8:00pm: Climb
***Note on 12/24 and 12/31 run club will start at 8:45AM!

Why on Earth are you starting this in December?
-Well, winter can be dark and cold and downright depressing...and we won't have it! Can't think of a better time to create a community to get out there and fight back against the Minnesota Winter, have some fun, get some cardio in, and meet some great people. **When that inevitable Monday does come where Winter does win with a snowstorm and unbearable temperatures, we'll be doing some cardio indoors instead before climbing!**
