August 12, 2019, Monday - Hippocrates Cafe at MacPhail

Time: 4 PM – 5 PM

Location: MacPhail Center for Music, 501 S 2nd Sreet

Hippocrates Cafe

A live performance that uses actors and musicians to explore healthcare topics through story and song. Each show has a theme (such as aging, cancer, influenza, memory loss) that is explored through poetry, short story, essay, excerpt, letter, historical document and music. The performances intend to breathe life into complex, difficult topics in ways that are thoughtful, respectful and revelatory.

It is not a “prescriptive” show; it does not attempt to tell listeners what to do or how to think or how to live healthier lives. Rather, it allows audience members to be moved by beautiful, poignant words and music that at once educate and entertain—and heal. The tone of the show is warm as opposed to being “coldly” scientific.

Dough-ga! Featuring Glam Doll Donuts

What better way to come back from 3 weeks away then with DONUTS!

To honor the ancient tradition--who am I kidding, we don't need a reason, they're DONUTS, that's reason enough. In our continued quest to take our mindfullness beyond our mats, we celebrate donuts, more specifically Glam Doll Donuts*.

75-minutes of yoga, followed by donut (and COFFEE!) bliss. AND, you have the chance to choose your own donut, so you may have to go do some research. Check out the menu or betther yet, check out the bakery itself, 519 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis.

Let me know the donut you want when you reserve your spot. If you don't pick, I'll get you one of my favorites, the classic Darling (chocolate w/ sprinkles). Either way, you can't go wrong.

COST: $20.

*For those of you who are GF, I'm more than happy to pick up donuts for you from the wonderful Sift gluten-free bakery.

August 10, 2019, Saturday - PopUp Dinner Twin Cities 2019 at the Sculpture Garden

Time: 5p - 10p

Location: The Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center

PopUp Dinner Twin Cities 2019

What is the PopUp Dinner Twin Cities? It is a beautiful picnic and vibrant gathering under the stars- a celebration of LIFE, LOVE and COMMUNITY. It is what Minneapolis makes of it, and it is what each guest makes of it. No other event brings together hundreds of people to spontaneously celebrate creativity quite like this!

The Location! The Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center has been the home of PopUp Twin Cities since 2017.

Dress Code! All-white attire is the theme that pulls this summer evening gathering together, but creativity is the only thing that's mandatory. We love to see hats, belts, accessories and more in the color of your choice. Be playful, be beautiful, be YOU!

Tabletop Décor! Your lovely tablescapes set the tone for a festive evening. This is outdoor dining in style, but your tables can be as simple or elaborate as you want. After setting up, guests will wander the venue, wine glass in hand, to see what others have created and meet new people!

The Food! We believe sharing a meal is an expression of love. Everyone becomes a foodie for the night and goes all out in creating, preparing and packing their own delicious menu to be shared amongst hundreds of new friends.

Entertainment! Music is the soul of any party and PopUp Twin Cities is no different. We love to see you all move! 2019 will feature a live band and the DJ will be sure the music will get people out of their chairs and on to the dance floor.

* The PopUp is a 21+ event. IDs will be strictly checked at the door. We apologize for the inconvenience.
* Tables and chairs provided. Guests bring their own food and decor.
* Tickets are refundable up to 30 days before the event. After that they are transferable to another individual.
* Rain or shine we will dine!
