Monday Mile at Target Field

The Minnesota Twins and Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine have teamed up to promote health and wellness during the Twins 2019 regular season. The Mayo Clinic Monday Miles walking program provides the opportunity for downtown working professionals to take advantage of the lunchtime sunshine and walk the warning track at Target Field. Mayo Clinic Monday Miles will take place ten times throughout the summer. Participants should enter through Gate 29 to check in and begin their walk. Following each event, participants are encouraged to walk to Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine (skyway level of Mayo Clinic Square) for some ‘enter to win’ opportunities and to hear more about the services offered at that location.

*Sign up is required through the eventbrite link above.

In the event of inclement weather, participants will be notified of cancellation via email at least 2 hours prior to walk start time.

We will continue 2019 Slow Roll Season from as we explore the routes along the Mississippi from UROC to the U of M to North Mississippi Regional and explore the Parks ad neighborhoods in between. come and experience Dj So Supreme setting the rhythm, enjoy beautifully prepared food from Zamaya Delicious and a tour of the beautiful Northside. This ride is for everyone!

Slow Roll is a group bicycle ride that meets every Monday night (with some limited exceptions and special events) in the Twin Cities, It is part of a national network of community rides that started in Detroit. Each week we meet at different venues and take a unique route through the city, including all the major and minor neighborhoods that we are so proud of but may be underrepresented in the cycling conversation or the home of historically oppressed communities.

Historic Main Street Walking Tour

Stroll through Minneapolis' oldest neighborhood on a guided tour and learn about the rich diversity of the 1850s town of St. Anthony and the immense changes along Main Street throughout the years. Founded in 1848, a few years before Minneapolis, St. Anthony has been a crossroads for many diverse peoples, including Dakota, Ojibwe, Yankees, German and Irish immigrants, métis, free blacks, and Southern tourists accompanied by enslaved people.

Tour landmarks include the 1855 Upton Block, 1858 Martin and Morrison Building, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, the Pillsbury A Mill, and the Chalybeate Mineral Springs.

This tour begins and ends at the gray door on Third Avenue SE at Main Street (around the corner from the A-Mill Artist Lofts' main entrance at 315 Main Street SE). It includes about one mile of moderately paced walking on uneven surfaces.
