WHAT’S
NEW:
- Philip Hess from Home Hearth Grains is raising buckwheat for the first time this season. Buckwheat’s growing season is two to three months, so depending on weather and luck, freshly harvested buckwheat may be available by the end of the market season.
- Kirstin and Julie at Star Prairie Trout Farm always seem to sell out
of their favorite kind of smoked trout – the cajun. That may be
because they’re good at talking up its “perfect balance” between the spice and trout flavor. The fish sold on Saturday “was swimming on Thursday,” in natural artisan ponds by the Apple River that are 49 degrees year-round.
- Round out your shopping list at the Local D’Lish General Store, where you will find pasta, crackers, milk, butter, kefir, peanut butter and SO much more!
