September 5, 2014, Friday - Heat Up Your Life at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park

Time: 5:00pm - 10:00pm

Location: Father Hennepin Bluffs Park

The aptly named Heat Up Your Life will be held at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park, right off the Stone Arch Bridge, for a first-of-its-Minneapolis-kind event.

"One thing particular to the Twin Cities culinary culture, in regards to spicy foods, is we like a burn that doesn't crowd out flavor," says Rob Glacier, owner of hot sauce start-up Nuclear Nectar, and vendor at Heat Up Your Life. "Heat just for the sake of heat doesn't fly around here. There's got to be a balance."

The featured food trucks (rumored to include O'Cheeze and potentially Potters Pasties) will create original dishes that highlight a Minnesota twist on spicy cuisine. From 8 to 10 p.m., event goers will also have the chance to view a documentary, Heat Up Your Life, entirely about chilies and spicy food "from seed to salsa." The event itself is free -- though bring money for the food trucks -- and will run from 5 to 10 p.m.
