The Norwegian-American Historical Association and Mill City Museum team up for a celebration of Norwegian American foodways, past and present.

Debbie Miller, co-author of “Potluck Paradise” (MNHS Press), will lead a panel of Norwegian food experts: Darlene Fossum-Martin, educational specialist at Vesterheim Museum, Chris Dorff, president of Olsen Fish Company, and Solveig Tofte, founder of Sun Street Breads. Enjoy lefse and rømmegrøt demos and tastings, samples from Vikre Distillery and Olsen Fish Company, and more!

Preschool Holiday Session: Book Ornaments / Ornament Books

For families with children ages 3-5

Get a jump on literacy in interactive pre-school book arts classes with Ellen Ferrari. Children and adults work together to make paper, print patterns, shapes and letters and construct colorful books in a fun environment. Each class begins by reading a story and continues by investigating examples produced by working artists. Vocabulary, tools and processes will also be introduced. These workshops emphasize visual decision-making, improving manual dexterity and a love of books and can be repeated over and over again as projects change each session. Dress for mess.

Ten Thousand Things presents: Euripides’ Electra

Dates: November 2 – 5

Ten Thousand Things opens its 2017–18 season with Euripides’ Electra, the story of a young woman who cannot rid herself of her desire for revenge. Electra is directed by Rebecca Novick, who has worked with TTT’s model at California Shakespeare Theater. The show features Michelle Barber, Kurt Kwan, Audrey Park, Thomasina Petrus, Mikell Sapp, Ricardo Vazquez and Karen Wiese-Thompson. Tickets are $30. Pay what you can for audiences under age 30. Please present ID at the door.
