Location: Capella Tower, 225 S 6th Street (in the atrium)

Markets will run from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Atrium every Wednesday through September. A variety of locally grown vegetables, fruits, flowers, honey, and baked goods will be available each week.

MPRB’s Annual Fourth of July Celebration Red, White and Boom

Celebrate the Fourth of July during Minneapolis Red, White and Boom, a two-day celebration hosted by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. The event, held along the downtown Minneapolis Riverfront, features live music, great food, fun activities for the whole family, and the grand finale – fireworks!
 
On Tuesday, July 4, Father Hennepin Bluff Park will offer FREE family activities in the Family Fun Zone, 6:00pm–9:30pm including balloon twisters, caricature artists, hair and  face painting,and a “Despicable Me 3” tattoo parlor, courtesy of event sponsor Universal Studios. Bands performing this year are as follows:

The Herbivorous Butcher will be closed Tuesday, July 4th, so we're opening our doors on Monday, July 3rd from 11am-4pm! In conjunction, we're co-hosting a grill out with our neighbors at Red Stag Supperclub on their patio from 11am-3pm!

Come enjoy specialty vegan eats, and bar service by Red Stag.

Railroad History Walking Tour

Beginning with the arrival of Minnesota's first rail line in 1862, Minneapolis boomed in population and flour milling, lumber production and warehousing took off. Take a guided tour of railroad landmarks, including the Stone Arch Bridge, Milwaukee Road Depot and the Minneapolis Eastern Railway engine house and trestle. Along the way, find clues to the vanishing railroad landscape and learn about the future of Twin Cities rail.

The tour includes about 1.5 miles of moderately paced walking on uneven surfaces. Please call ahead to make arrangements for guests with limited mobility.

Everyone is welcome. Stay after the event for a discussion with creators Ty Defoe and Larissa FastHorse.

Guthrie Theater Story Time is the first Saturday of every month at 9:30 and 10 in the green music tent by the Guthrie stairs. Join Guthrie Theater actor H. Adam on the blue mats for 20-minute theatrical readings of our favorite kids’ books!

POWER OF PRODUCE
Power of Produce “PoP“ veggie tasting club is at the information tent every Saturday! Kids ages 3-12 can earn a $2 token to spend on fruits and veggies by tasting a local, seasonal vegetable, as a way to empower kids to make healthy eating decisions.

MEET YOUR VEGETABLES
Nutrition and Public Health students lead our Meet Your Vegetables demonstrations at the top of the Chicago Mall, near Spoonriver restaurant. Discover creative, simple ways to prepare seasonal produce and walk away with a delicious sample and recipe card complete with nutrition information!

DJ Jake Rudh presents a new twist on his weekly Minneapolis-based post-punk, new wave, and indie dance show “Transmission.” Come show off your dance moves at an all-day dance party in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden
