June 25, 2015, Thursday - Farewell Celebration for Ben Heywood at The Soap Factory

Time:  4:00pm to 6:00pm

Location: The Soap Factory, 514 Second Street SE

From The Soap Factory Facebook page:

After nearly 13 years of dedication to this organization and its work, our Executive Director, Ben Heywood is moving on to an incredible post with Vulcan in Seattle, where he will run Paul Allen's latest artistic venture.

Though we're sad to see such a key member of our organization leave, we couldn't be prouder or more excited to see him move into this new role!

Ben began his work with The Soap Factory as a volunteer, when it was a building-less organization called No Name Exhibitions. After the donation of the building, he worked as gallery-sitter, braving raw building conditions to welcome visitors to this unique space. Later, he was hired to work with the Board of the organization to transition from No Name to what we now know as The Soap Factory.

Over the years, Ben has worked steadfastly to engage thousands of people in the kind of artistic experimentation and innovation that can only be found at The Soap.

We hope you'll be able to join us in celebrating Ben's work, and in bidding him a fond farewell on Thursday, June 25 from 4 to 6pm.
