July 28, 2017, Friday - Bands that Brew at Day Block Brewing

Time: 9pm Doors | 21+ | $5 Cover

Location: Day Block Brewing Company, 1103 Washington Avenue S

In this Bands that Brew Series, we got together with Hardcore Crayons and chose to brew a Honey Wheat!

Honey Wheat - We utilized honey malt to help bring a nice sweetness but yet malty character to the beer. Thus adding a color as pure as wild flower honey.

Hardcore Crayons (instrumental, dub, math rock)
Zozzled showcases Hardcore Crayons' unique blend of math and post-rock intertwined with elements of jazz & dub. Zozzled is heavier and more layered than past releases. Much of this has to do with a greater usage of guitar loops, keyboards, and bursts of noise with guitarist Dan Chizek adding some heavily delayed vocals that act more like a 4th instrument than melody and local sax stalwart, Mike Lewis, featured on several tracks after sitting in on the recording sessions. That said, Zozzled is a carefully crafted instrumental album that will keep you guessing and Hardcore Crayons show themselves to be one of the most skilled & innovative young bands to emerge from the Twin Cities in some time.
