A Museum Without Glass: Tour HMML with MCBA

Join us for a special day-long tour of the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML) at Saint John’s Abbey and University. Experience original folios from The Saint John’s Bible and explore rare printed books and manuscripts from the HMML collection. Join others in the MCBA community for this unique chance to engage with these incredible works up-close-and-personal, without glass cases.

Tour participants will also have the opportunity to join the Benedictine monastic community for noon prayer in the mid-century modern Abbey Church. A relaxing lunch in the Great Hall Founders Room will break up the day, and there will be some free time to explore the campus grounds. The tour fee covers a charter bus ride from MCBA to Saint John’s, private tours, lunch, and a loaf of “Johnnie” bread baked at the University.

Please note that the tour will require a good deal of walking up and down stairs and between buildings throughout Saint John's campus. Tickets cost $77 for MCBA members and $85 for non-members.
