February 8, 2020, Saturday - Love Local: MCBA Open House 2020 and Date Night

Time: 10 am – 2 pm

Location: Minnesota Center for Book Arts, 1011 Washington Ave S

Love Local: MCBA Open House 2020

Enjoy a free, all-ages Open House! Tour the MCBA studios, and check out hands-on book arts activities including letterpress-printed cards, suminagashi valentines and pop-up cards. Come in from the February cold and get smitten with book arts! Free and open to the public. Please RSVP via Eventbrite.

Love Local: Date Night with Tiny Motor Things  6 – 7:30 pm

Get smitten with cursive! MCBA is teaming up with Tiny Motor Things and Loop Haro to host a handwriting-themed date night in our studios. You will be guided through engaging exercises to reconnect you with the forgotten rules of cursive and handwritten correspondence. You’ll also have the chance to letterpress print a Valentine on one of their antique presses. Bring a date, partner or pal. It’s free, but space is limited, so RSVP here. Tiny Motor Things believes the handwritten word is always honest and should occur daily, from fancy script to a ballpoint on the back of a receipt. Read or listen to their feature on MPR and find them at @fareweatherdesign and #tinymotorthings.
