Minnesota Bach Ensemble: Emperors and Tyrants
Often regarded as Handel’s magnum opus, Giulio Cesare recounts the story of the Roman Emperor on his conquests in Egypt. Filled with murder, betrayal, revenge and a passionate love story, the opera displays Handel’s powerful storytelling.
The dramatic arias and their virtuosic vocal lines mirror the characters’ unscrupulous ambitions within the bloody plot. The Minnesota Bach Ensemble is thrilled to welcome a truly stellar cast for their selected highlights from the opera. Adults $30, students $10.
