Inline Skating and Indoor Running returns this season for U.S. Bank Stadium’s Winter Warm-Up, a series of twelve recreational fitness nights at U.S. Bank Stadium. These public events are open to all ages and will take place on the stadium’s main and upper concourses from 5 – 9 pm.  
 
We welcome the community to come and enjoy indoor running and inline skating at U.S. Bank Stadium this winter,” says Michael Vekich, Chair of the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority. “We look forward to hosting these events each year. Offering affordable and accessible community events like U.S. Bank Stadium’s Winter Warm-Up serves the mission of U.S. Bank Stadium to the fullest extent.”

Tour the Pillsbury A Mill

The Pillsbury A Mill, constructed in 1881, was once the largest and most advanced flour mill in the world. Go on a guided tour of the former milling complex, including the rooftop deck and the basement waterpower facilities, and discover the story of this National Historic Landmark, now home to the A-Mill Artist Lofts.

Highlights include the largest and best-preserved waterpower system in Minneapolis, with views straight down a 50-foot drop shaft through a glass floor. Guests will discover how the building functioned during the flour milling era, see the architectural highlights of the recently completed A-Mill Artist Lofts built within the historic mill buildings, and learn about the new hydroelectric plant that helps to power the complex.

This tour is presented in partnership with A-Mill Artist Lofts.

The tour includes about 1.5 miles of moderately-paced walking indoors and outdoors with some uneven surfaces. Please call ahead to make arrangements for guests with limited mobility.

Free Family Music Series: Sensory Friendly Concert

The Free Family Music Series is a series of free events for music-loving families and those who want to explore music for the first time! The centerpiece of this series is a live concert. Before and after each concert, the musicians will give free sample lessons to kids and adults on the instruments featured in the concert. Sing Play Learn with MacPhail® staff will also be on-site to engage families in a music-themed art project. Light refreshments will follow the concert.

Sing, Play, Learn! with MacPhail® presents its first Sensory Friendly concert for children of all abilities, including those on the autism spectrum and with sensory sensitivities. As part of the Free Family Music Series, this program will include:

  • Sensory-Friendly concert featuring the Chione Woodwind Quintet – 10:15 a.m.
  • Instrument exploration – 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Complementary snacks
  • Instrument making activity
  • Sensory room – available throughout the concert

Event will run from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Chione will share the musical story of Pāka’a Lanakila, a little boy living in Hawaii, composed by Hawaiian native Jon Magnussen. The ensemble will engage children by intertwining musical learning, storytelling and American Sign Language. Participants will use these signs to interact with the music throughout the piece as they listen for and identify each theme with the appropriate signs in context. This 45-minute storytime program can be enjoyed by all ages, from babies to children at heart.

Julmarknad is the American Swedish Institute's annual holiday market and festival – and one of our most popular weekends! There will be handmade items for sale by more than 55 talented local and regional artists, and The American Swedish Institute Museum Store and Jul Shop will sell Nordic and Nordic-inspired gifts.

The celebration continues with performances, family crafts and festival food by FIKA at the American Swedish Institute (don't forget to pick up treats to share at their bake sale).

The museum is open for festival goers to browse the decorated holiday rooms, this year commemorating ASI's 90th anniversary with our "Time Tested. Tradition Approved" exhibition.
