Join Preserve Minneapolis on June 9th for our first-ever fundraiser event: a tour of the Pillsbury A-Mill Artist Lofts.

Tickets are $25 (of which $16 is tax-deductible).  Purchase tickets

Years in the making, the new Artist Lofts have brought new life to one of the most historically important buildings in Minneapolis, the site where the Pillsbury company made its name.

We've offered prior tours of the building, during construction, but even if you've seen it before, you won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity to see the completed and open-for-business building and to learn about the project from the people who led it, including BKV Group (the architect) and Weis Builders (the contractor).

The event is also a chance to celebrate and support Preserve Minneapolis--all proceeds for this fundraiser event go right back into our programs, including our tours, forums, advocacy, and the Minneapolis Historical mobile app.

As promised, we have RESCHEDULED our 5/23 canceled ride! The same ride, a slow-paced, no rider left behind, all people welcome 10 mile ride that highlights the detours around the Franklin Bridge to get you to and from the Seward Co-op. Join us!

We are very excited to have our main teacher, Lama Ole Nydahl, visiting Minneapolis and giving a public lecture on June 7th.

Lama Ole Nydahl's lecture will provide an introductory overview of Buddhism and meditation methods. He will explain how we can use timeless Buddhist methods to transform fear, expectation, and doubt into fearlessness, joy and active compassion.

Take an in-depth look at the historic Washburn A Mill complex and the award-winning Mill City Museum building. A museum interpreter will take visitors into the building’s many nooks and crannies, highlighting the lives of the men and women who worked there, how the building functioned during its peak flour milling years and the many changes to the building over time.

This is the only opportunity for a guided tour through the entire museum building and the only chance to see some of its non-public spaces. The tour includes admission to the museum gallery, Baking Lab, Water Lab and Flour Tower show.

- Northern Spark is a free, annual, dusk-to-dawn, multidisciplinary arts festival that takes place after the market on June 11 in the Chicago Mall and Mill City ruins Courtyard. This year's theme is 'Climate Chaos, Climate Rising'.

It’s About Time

Traffic Zone Gallery presents It’s About Time, an exhibition of photographs by riverfront resident Laura Crosby. For this exhibition, the artist asked herself, “How do I photograph time? If time is the subject of photography how would it look? Does it move in one direction only or does it circle back on itself?” What she discovered is that deep inside of wide time exists. Time expires, its past is gone, and its future not yet come. It’s never resting, constant, silent, mysterious, indefinable, precious, illusionary, relentless, constant, short, long, fast, slow, endless, deadly and healing.

In this exhibition each photograph is layered in order to depict the passage of time and is accompanied by a quotation that relates directly to the images. The subjects captured include: energy, environment, war, communication, agriculture, time, history and information. The exhibit and public reception are free and open to the public.
