Location:  Begins at Gold Medal Park (10th Avenue South & 2nd Street South), next to the Guthrie Theater - ends in Northeast Minneapolis

The Riverwalk Tour explores the Mill District and St. Anthony on Main in Northeast Minneapolis.  You'll enjoy the afternoon sampling a variety of food at historical landmarks, as well as visit the Mill City Museum, stroll by the Guthrie, and enjoy gorgeous views of St. Anthony Falls while crossing the Stone Arch Bridge into historical St. Anthony on Main.
 
You'll learn about the history of both these neighborhoods including a stroll along the oldest street in Minneapolis.  Taste and chat with other food-loving guests, and leave the tour with an appreciation for these distinct neighborhoods.

Family Riverfront Quest Tour at Mill City Museum

Try out questing with a family-focused tour of the Minneapolis riverfront outside Mill City Museum. A Quest is a community treasure hunt that guides people through, and teaches them to see, a unique part of their community. This quest includes solving rhyming riddles and searching for hidden boxes with pictures to place in a quest journal that participants can make before the tour. Journal materials and admission to Mill City Museum are included in the tour cost. The tour is designed for ages 6–11, but can be enjoyed by all ages. Adults and seniors must be accompanying a child.

Fee: $11 adults, $9 seniors, $10 ages 6-17, $7 MHS Members ages 6-17, Free for Adult and Senior MHS members

Looking for a way to take your sun salutations outside so you can truly salute the sun? The Downtown Minneapolis CorePower Yoga invites you to join them each Sunday for CorePower Yoga’s, “Yoga in the Park.” CorePower encourages yoga practioners to open their minds and join their breath and movements to the sound of music and nature all around us. All levels of yoga students are welcome and their hope is that you take this opportunity to not only practice yoga, but to find even deeper connections within your community!

These free classes will be held every Sunday starting June 3rd and running through August 26th.  All classes are 10:00am – 11:00am at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park.  Please call CorePower Yoga Downtown Minneapolis at 612-375-9642 with questions.
 
Items of note:
- Attendees should arrive 15-30 minutes prior to class starting for sign in purposes.

Solstice River XVI: And Peace Will Flow...
Presented by Global Site Performance and the Center for Global Environmental Education.

This annual performance honors the Mississippi River around the longest day of the year. 

Come to the Stone Arch bridge and watch as the whole surrounding landscape comes alive with dancers on rooftops, kayaks, and riverbanks.
The audience joins in at the finale, with blue fabric symbolizing the river, that stretches over 1400 feet along the Stone Arch Bridge.

Free and open to the public, rain or shine. Come early (8:00pm) for a raffle drawing to support the show.  Music will be simulcast on KBEM 88.5 FM.

The Center for Global Environmental Education provides public information about the care and health of the river.

Decorate the sky with your own printed kite this summer. Explore the amazing technique of pressure printing on MCBA’s Vandercook letterpresses to print your design on Japanese Kozo paper. Then construct a kite using your printed paper, bamboo sticks, glue and thread. Take the finished kite home with you to fly all summer! $33 ($30 members) per adult/child pair; $17 ($15) each additional participant. For families with children ages 6 and up.

Students are introduced to a number of simple, yet unique embellishing techniques that can be applied to commercial and handmade papers (such as painting, laminating, stitching, stamping and beading). The samples will be hand bound in a swatch book. These working methods can be utilized to create richly decorated stationary, collages and book covers. All skill levels welcome. $95 ($85 members) + $20 supply fee.

We are thankful for his friendship and contributions to the Mill District.
