Vietnamese New Year Celebration at Central Library to Feature Dance, Music, Storytelling, Martial Arts

On Saturday, Februray 2, at 1:30pm, the Central Librarywill host “Tet: Vietnamese New Year 2013”.

Children and families will kick off the Year of the Snake and learn about the biggest and most popular festival of the year in Vietnam. They'll discover unicorn moves and drumming to drive off bad luck, listen to zodiac tales, watch and dance along with a cultural dance group and enjoy a martial arts demonstration.

Performers are Hoang Anh Dance Group, Anh Ha Kieu Nguyen performing on a suspended bamboo xylophone, Asian Storytellers Alliance, and a martial arts demonstration by Hua Truong and Mac Le.

Presented in collaboration with Hung Vuong Association of Minnesota, and funded by Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
