When you visit the January 28 Mill City Farmers Market inside the Mill City Museum (10a-1p), but sure to pick up a few sweet potatoes. They're a delicious treat no matter how you fix them.
Beth Dooley had an informative article in the January 26 Taste section, Sweet potato or yam?, in which she discussed the differences between yams and sweet potatoes. She also shared her tasty recipe, Spicy and Tangy Sweet Potatoes, featuring roasted sweet potatoes with chiles and lime.
Try sweet potatoes in everything from soup to biscuits. On a recent trip to Jamaica we were treated to Sweet Potato Pudding, which was baked in a Dutch oven over an open fire. Yum! :D
